Licensing and Accreditation

Grafton’s residential services for children are licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental services; educational services are licensed by the Virginia Department of Education.

Grafton is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Special Education Facilities (VAISEF) under the authority of the Virginia Council of Private Education. The Virginia Board of Education has authorized the Virginia Council for Private Education to accredit private nursery, preschool, elementary, and secondary schools.

Grafton’s programs for adults in Virginia are licensed through Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

Grafton’s psychiatric residential treatment facilities are licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and Department of Education and are accredited by CARF. CARF is an international nonprofit accreditor of human service providers.

Outpatient services are also licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and accredited by CARF.
