Grafton School Integrated Health Network offers a short term stabilization program, which acts as a short term psychiatric residential stabilization and community based triage service. It includes outcome-oriented, person and family centered individualized treatment. The twenty-four hour trauma-informed program serves children and adolescents ages twelve to seventeen. Intensive intervention focuses upon the child, the family, and the community. The length of stay is typically between 30-45 days.
Other programs within our continuum of care are available as "step-down services" or for longer term treatment if required.
Admission criteria include but are not limited to the following:
- Males and females, ages twelve to seventeen (12-17)
- Disruptive or aggressive behaviors
- Suicidal ideation
- Self-injurious behaviors
- Co-occurring substance abuse
- Ability to engage in a therapeutic program in an open campus-like setting
- Admissions can take place within 24 hours of initial contact to our access center. Same day, emergency admissions can also take place.
Services Provided:
- Targeted solution focused admission interview involving the child, family, and ANY community member or service provider that the parent deems important
- Plan development based upon the strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences of the child and family
- Individual psychotherapy (provided at minimum three times per week)
- Family therapy (provided at least once per week)
- Family group therapy
- Group therapy and education groups daily
- Psychiatric assessment and treatment with a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
- Case Management Services and Community Intervention
- Psychometric testing if indicated
- 24/7 nursing available on site
A multidisciplinary team of professionals is assigned to each individual and includes a Psychiatrist, Individual Therapist, Family Therapist, Nurse, Teacher, Group Life Counselor, Case Manager, and Consultants (as needed).
Treatment is designed to:
- Support the rapid stabilization of the family and child through a variety of interventions
- Encourage resilience
- Integrate with community resources to limit length of stay as much as possible
- Ensure that the child does not fall behind in the educational arena
- Provide local community supports, time to develop comprehensive community based services, while the child is not only safe, but being introduced to a helping process
- Help the family and child see possibilities where they thought there were none
