Psychiatric Residential Treatment
Grafton provides secure, trauma informed psychiatric residential treatment (PRT) for individuals between the ages of six and 21 with psychiatric disabilities, or those with intellectual disabilities or autism and simultaneous psychiatric conditions. Our goal is to provide short-term, intensive residential therapeutic treatment, in direct partnership with the family or guardian, designed to help individuals build the skills necessary to be successful in a community and home setting.
Our PRT serves a wide range of presenting problems in specially designed and resourced units including:
- Sexually reactive youth;
- Youth with autism spectrum disorders and/or intellectual disability;
- Youth with conduct problems that make community living unsafe; and
- Youth with serious mental illness.
In addition to individual, group and family therapy, clients explore issues and challenges through a variety of activities including animal assisted therapy, art therapy, horticulture, music instruction, structured recreation and more.
