Rachael Reeder
Rachael Reeder, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, joined Grafton in 2014 and has served as the Director of the Loudoun County Youth Shelter since 2017.
After majoring in psychology at the University of Maryland, Ms. Reeder earned a graduate degree in social work. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work with young children, teens, and adults. She has worked in-patient facilities, with individuals who have severe mental illness and outpatient facilities, with families, and every level of care in between. Both her education and work experience have helped her to gain a perspective on both the individual and how that individual fits within the broader social system.
Ms. Reeder is passionate about improving systems that support youth and families with complex challenges. She ensures the quality of care of teens in crisis by developing evidence-based programs, training and supporting staff, identifying individual and family interventions, and connecting with local resources to meet complex and challenging family needs. She uses a collaborative, skills-based approach that seeks to respect the family and youth’s strengths and perspectives.
