WINCHESTER, Va. — Two nonprofit behavioral health organizations in Virginia are merging.

Grafton and Graydon Manor announced Monday that their boards approved the merger last week.

The organizations say the merger will allow them to pool resources and improve and expand services. It will become effective by early 2011.

Founded in 1957, Leesburg-based Graydon Manor provides services for children and adults with serious psychiatric and emotional problems.

Winchester-based Grafton was founded in 1958 and provides services for children and adults with intellectual and cognitive disabilities, psychiatric conditions and developmental disorders.
