Dr. Robia Fields Joins Grafton as Medical Director On July 30th

July 23, 2013

It is a time of change in our medical department at Grafton!  After over six years of exemplary service as the Medical Director of Berryville’s psychiatric residential treatment facility, Dr. Maria Vigilar will be stepping down to a part time position with us, so she can devote more time to the development of her private practice.   Dr. Vigilar has worked tirelessly to ensure that the children she serves receive the best care possible, and has directly contributed to the growth of our program.   She is a mentor, colleague and leader, and we are truly grateful, and happy to be able to continue to work with her on a part-time basis.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Greg Law who has been helping out with the consolidation of the PRT programs at Berryville, maintaining the caseload he held at the Leesburg program while serving many patients in the outpatient practice. Dr. Law is truly a mission-driven individual, and his consistency, calm, and high standard of care will be sorely missed.  Dr. Law will be returning to private practice in August.

Grafton is pleased to announce that Dr. Robia Fields will join our organization as Medical Director on July 30, 2013!  Dr. Fields’ qualifications as a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and a Board Eligible Pediatrician make her uniquely aligned with Grafton’s mission of integrated care.  She has over twenty years of experience practicing in acute care, outpatient, and residential treatment settings.  Although her office   will be based in Berryville, her responsibilities will extend to the psychiatric and medical services throughout our organization.

Dr. Fields moved to Loudoun County in Virginia in 1999 having had several professional roles in acute settings in Kentucky.  She began a solo private practice in Leesburg in 2002.  In 2007, Dr. Fields joined the medical staff of North Spring Behavioral Health in Leesburg, becoming Medical Director in 2010. She is a truly a mission-driven professional, demanding the best for her patients, and ensuring that the team that serves them is defined by excellence.  She is absolutely tireless.  She is a true advocate for those who need help.  Her boundless energy, enthusiasm, and extraordinary clinical skills will help us bridge the transition as Dr. Maria Vigilar steps down from the role of Medical Director.
